COTF RESEARCH APPLICATION

COTF Research Grant (3 x $5,000 for 2010)
Awarded annually to individual, life or student members of CAOT who have been sponsored by an employer or educational institution to pursue research directly applicable to the practice of client-centered occupational therapy.
Deadline: February 28 annually.

Critical Literature Review (2 x $5,000 for 2010)
Established in 2005. COTF is funding the grants and CAOT will be disseminating published works. It is a joint initiative between CAOT and COTF. Deadline: February 28 annually.

Isobel Robinson Historical Research Grant (1 x $2,000)
Established in 2004. Awarded every two years to individual, life or student members of CAOT undertaking historical research on some aspect of occupational therapy.
Deadline: February 28, 2010.
ISOBEL ROBINSON HISTORICAL RESEARCH APPLICATION

J. V. Cook and Associates Qualitative Research Award (1 x $1,500 for 2010)

Established in 2006. The purpose of this research grant is to assist Masters students who are pursuing studies of issues in occupation that exclusively use the strategies and analytic techniques of the qualitative research paradigm. These criteria therefore exclude survey questionnaire studies even if they have one or two open ended questions. It also excludes structured, close ended interview questionnaires that use counts of responses for analysis. The research grant is intended to support students with the design and conduct of their research (for example, but not limited to, collection of pilot data, equipment costs for recording and transcription, transcription costs, and reimbursement for participants). It is not offered to cover presentation and/or conference costs. One grant in the amount of $1,500 will be awarded.

SAOT Clinical Research Grants

A maximum of three $500 grants are awarded annually for the following:

  1. Education to Allow Research: The purpose of the grant is to support occupational therapists in Alberta who are advancing their knowledge to enable them to carry out clinical reserach.
  2. Clinical Research Award: The purpose of this grant is to support clinical research in the area of occupational therapy which is not academically supported.
  3. Financial Assistance for Research Presentation: The purpose of this grant is to support occupational therapists in Alberta doing a presentation on research that has been completed.

Deadline: April 1 annually.

MSOT Research Fund Presentation Award
To provide funding to support the presentation of original clinical/research findings by occupational therapists who are presenting at a national or international scientific meeting. One award of up to a maximum of $500.00 is available annually.
Deadline: 2nd Monday in January annually.
